This is a story of a boy who gave up all just for his passion. His love for his work of art, his undying commitment but yet his weakness killed him and he was never the same again.
Dennis was born on January 20, 1992. He was born around evening time and when he was born, his mother passed away during child birth, leaving him and his father all alone. His father always blamed him for the death of his mother and he feel like the whole world was against him. But he loved one thing, he loved being on stage. Being another person in a role made him, free to express all the emotion he wants. At 6, he decided to pursue his dream to become an actor. He gives up on his studies and begin to concentrate on his acting. He left home and never go back again. His downfall started when he was famous.
” Dennis! Cut Cut! You call that acting? That’s worse than the Amateur’s. Redo! You better pull up your socks or else, I’ll punish you.” Desmond yells loudly at the poor boy. Dennis scurries away trying hard to add emotions into lines. Dennis is at the peak of his career. He has been in 20 plays and is named one of the upcoming talented actor ever seen. With all his enthusiasm, he plays his role of Shylock with the everlasting look of a 50 year old Jew yearning to kill his only enemy, Antonio. After a whole day of acting, Dennis decides to head for supper with his friends, Joanne and Steph. Wearing his Ray Ban’s to cover his dark-rimmed eyes, due to the sleepless nights he had, he heads to the cafe where they are waiting for him. He did not have much friends due to his arrogance and his social status. He never knew that on that night, once he enters the cafe, he’ll never be the same again.
He walks into the cafe, feeling all tired and worn out after a long day in the theatre. He sees his friends as they wave at him and walks tiredly towards his friends. He calls to the waiter and orders his regular Caramel Frappuccino. ” So what’s up lately?” Dennis starts off his conversation. Sneakily, Steph pulls him aside and asks him “Hey, you want to earn quick bucks?” Dennis looking awkwardly at her, stares at her blankly, “How?”. ” You’re like a celebrity right? So not a lot of people would actually suspect you, I tell you. I’ve got a friend who wants to transport goods from here to Malaysia, You’re always traveling right? Ever 100g, is $100K. Come on man, it’s the best deal ever.” Looking hesitantly, Dennis asks again, ” What kind of goods are you talking about?” Turning left and right, Steph nods her head and Joanne takes out her purse showing Dennis a small pill of Ecstasy. ” Here, for you to try it out”, Joanne smirks. In shock and horror, Dennis shook his head as he tries to run.
Beads of perspiration races down his head and he struggles to keep himself steady. Steph and Joanne’s laughter starts emerging and he was in a blank state of mind. He tries to free himself but to no avail. ” NOO!” He shouts as he lie awake in his bed and he realised it was all a dream. But it was a nightmare he will never forget, because he is already in the nightmare. The nightmare that he will regret, the night he took his first pill of Ecstasy, the day he felt that he could rule the world, where his troubles will be forgotten. But it was also the beginning of his downfall, as now, he lie on a hard spring bed, with his unkempt hair and torn shirt living in fear everyday that he’ll never be able to wake up to another day, because of his addiction to drugs and money.

Overall, a fairly interesting though somewhat predictable story. It was a bit of a let down though how the tale ended.
